Facade Waterproofing & Weathertightness
Water gets into a building through its envelope. Sealant around windows and panels perishes, expansion joints fail, protective coatings wear thin, and small defects open up on any facade that has stood through enough Auckland weather. Left alone, they turn into leaks, damp, staining and damage to the structure behind the cladding.
Restoring weathertightness from the outside
Alpine-Tech 360 works on rope. Our IRATA-certified technicians reach every elevation of a building without scaffolding, cranes or a cherry picker — which keeps the cost down, shortens the job, and lets the building carry on operating normally while the work happens around it.
What we mean by waterproofing
"Waterproofing" covers several different trades in New Zealand, so it is worth being precise. Ours is the above-ground building envelope: facades, elevations, windows, panel and expansion joints, and the details that keep weather out of a vertical surface.
If what you need is a deck, roof-deck, basement or below-ground tanking membrane system, that is a different specialisation with its own product accreditations, and a dedicated waterproofing contractor will serve you better than we will. We would rather tell you that up front than turn up and find it is not our job.
What the work covers
Re-sealing window perimeters, facade panel joints and expansion joints, using silicone, polyurethane or hybrid sealants matched to the substrate. Replacing perished seals and gaskets. Applying protective coatings to exposed surfaces. And tracing active leaks back to the point where the water is actually entering — then carrying out the repair, rather than handing you a report and leaving the fix to somebody else.
When to call us
Staining appearing on interior walls or ceilings. Damp that shows up after driving rain but not after still rain. Sealant that has cracked, hardened, shrunk back or pulled away from the substrate. Any of those are worth an inspection, and on rope we can usually find the cause in a single visit.

FAQs
Is facade waterproofing the same as deck or basement waterproofing?
No. Deck, roof-deck and basement work uses applied membrane and tanking systems, which is a separate trade with its own product accreditations. We work on the above-ground envelope — facades, windows, panels and joints. If your problem is a deck or a basement, a dedicated waterproofing contractor is the right call.
Do you need scaffolding to waterproof a facade?
No. Our technicians are IRATA-certified and work on rope, reaching every elevation without scaffolding or a cherry picker. That usually means a lower total cost, a shorter job, and far less disruption to the people using the building.
Can you carry out the repair, or only tell me what is wrong?
We carry out the repair. We trace the leak to where water is genuinely entering and then re-seal the failed joints, gaskets and details ourselves, rather than issuing a report and leaving the fix to another contractor.
How long should facade sealant last?
Typically 10–15 years, depending on how exposed the elevation is. South and west faces and anything catching driving rain or strong UV will reach the end of their life sooner than sheltered elevations on the same building.
How do I know if the problem is the facade and not something else?
Damp that appears after wind-driven rain, but not after still rain, usually points at the facade rather than the roof or plumbing. A rope access inspection of the elevation settles it quickly, because we can look at the joints and seals close up instead of guessing from the ground.
